Get to Know Dr. Susan Fuchs

Dr. Susan Fuchs is a psychiatrist who is fellowship and specialty trained in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. Her background includes training in internal medicine, giving her a unique perspective in the treatment of adult and geriatric patients. 

A Bit about Dr. Susan Fuchs

Dr. Susan Fuchs has been a practicing psychiatrist since 1988, and she has broad experience in the care of children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of expertise include psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.

Dr. Fuchs provides quality care in a safe environment where patients can express their thoughts and feelings in a comfortable and supportive atmosphere. She provides full service and direct access for urgent and emergency intervention, and provides individualized care for each patient.

Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy

Additionally, Dr. Fuchs is unique in that she is certified in the field of animal-assisted interventions and psychotherapy. This emerging field in the US has been well established abroad. This type of therapy focuses on using certified therapy animals for treatment solutions and in treatment goals. 

Experience That Counts

Dr. Fuchs served as the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at St. Francis Medical Center for more than 20 years, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She has consulted at the Katzenbach School for the Deaf, as well as with the Child Study Teams in New Brunswick, Hillsborough, and Pennsbury Townships.
